1912 Harley Davidson

Kirkpatrick Bank partner, Science Museum Oklahoma, has provided a 1912 Harley-Davidson to be on display at the Danforth branch. 
Here's a brief time-line, outlining the early history of Harley-Davidson:

• 1901 - William S. Harley, 21, draws plans for engine designed for use in a regular bicycle frame
   
• 1902 - The first machine is created collaboratively between Harley and his childhood friend, Arthur Davidson
   
• 1907 - Harley-Davidson begins to dominate motorcycle races
   
• 1908 - First Harley-Davidson motorcycle delivered to Detroit Police for use 
   
• 1909 - The introduction of the first V-Twin Engine
   
• 1911 - Introduction of the first belt drive driven with a lever instead of pedaling like a bicycle
